Mother Dairy Set to Surpass ₹17,000 Crore Turnover in FY25

As the fiscal year 2024-25 unfolds, Mother Dairy anticipates a remarkable 15 percent surge in its turnover, poised to surpass the impressive mark of ₹17,000 crore. This growth trajectory stems from the robust demand for its wide array of food products, coupled with strategic expansions in production capabilities and distribution networks. Known for its quality fresh milk, dairy products, edible oils under the ‘Dhara’ brand, and horticulture offerings labeled under ‘Safal’, Mother Dairy has solidified its position as the leading milk supplier in the bustling Delhi-NCR region.

A Milestone Year for Mother Dairy

In a recent interview with PTI, Manish Bandlish, the Managing Director of Mother Dairy, highlighted the significance of the ongoing fiscal year as the company commemorates its 50th year of establishment. Bandlish expressed confidence in the company’s continued success, stating, “We are on track to achieve a remarkable growth rate of around 15 percent, surpassing a turnover of ₹17,000 crore by the end of this fiscal year.” This ambitious target follows the commendable achievement of a ₹15,037 crore turnover in the preceding fiscal year, with the dairy business accounting for a substantial 75 percent of the total annual revenue.

Strategic Initiatives Driving Growth

Bandlish attributed Mother Dairy’s stellar performance to a series of strategic initiatives aimed at expanding the company’s national footprint beyond the Delhi-NCR region. By leveraging innovative distribution channels, enhancing manufacturing capacities, and introducing captivating new products to captivate consumers, Mother Dairy has solidified its presence in the competitive market landscape. A key component of the growth strategy includes the establishment of a state-of-the-art milk processing plant in Nagpur, Maharashtra, representing a significant investment exceeding ₹500 crore. This cutting-edge facility is slated for completion by 2026 and is poised to cater to the burgeoning markets in central and southern regions.

Expanding Horticulture Business

In addition to its dairy offerings, Mother Dairy is making significant strides in its horticulture business with the commencement of two integrated fruits and vegetables processing facilities. These facilities, located in Itola, Vadodara, Gujarat, and Chittoor District, Andhra Pradesh, are set to bolster the ‘Safal’ brand’s presence with an estimated investment exceeding ₹350 crore. With a focus on producing pulp and concentrates for various products, including popular fruits like mango, guava, banana, and pomegranate, these facilities will also cater to the demand for frozen french fries in both domestic and international markets.

Innovative Product Launches and Market Expansion

Throughout the current fiscal year, Mother Dairy has introduced more than 30 new products across diverse categories, showcasing its commitment to innovation and consumer engagement. Since its inception in 1974, Mother Dairy has evolved into a wholly-owned subsidiary of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), playing a pivotal role in India’s journey towards self-sufficiency in milk production. With nine company-owned milk processing plants, four horticulture facilities, and 16 associated plants for edible oils, Mother Dairy has cemented its position as a versatile player in the food industry.

Embracing New Horizons

In a bid to diversify its offerings, Mother Dairy has ventured into the bread and bakery segment, further expanding its portfolio and catering to evolving consumer preferences. As the company continues to innovate and adapt to changing market dynamics, its commitment to quality, sustainability, and customer satisfaction remains unwavering. With a rich legacy spanning five decades, Mother Dairy exemplifies resilience, growth, and a steadfast dedication to excellence in the realm of food production and distribution.

Through strategic investments, innovative product launches, and a steadfast commitment to quality, Mother Dairy is poised to surpass its previous milestones and carve a path towards sustained growth and success in the dynamic food industry landscape.
