Suta, a homegrown saree brand, is on a mission to expand its presence across India. With 15 stores already established nationwide, the brand is setting its sights on reaching more Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. The recent success in locations like Raipur, Bhubaneswar, and Thiruvananthapuram has fueled their ambition to grow even further. Founded in 2016, Suta works closely with independent weavers and runs a manufacturing facility in Jharkhand. The brand’s projected revenue is expected to soar from ₹75 crore in FY25 to ₹110 crore in FY26, with a strong focus on boosting sales through their website and online marketplaces.

Expanding their horizons, Suta has recently opened new stores in HSR Layout in Bengaluru and Koregaon Park in Pune. Their expansion plans include adding more stores, particularly in Bengaluru, this financial year. The brand is also eyeing opportunities in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities where they have already experienced significant success. Co-founder Sujata Biswas expressed their strategy by saying, “So we want to do more stores in areas which are doing well. It’s easy for marketing, and it’s easy for distribution of products and a lot of logistical problems will get sorted.”

In response to growing demand, Suta has ventured into kidswear and menswear, initially launching these categories in offline stores before transitioning online. Co-founder Taniya Biswas shared, “We saw a great demand for it (these products), and hence we moved it online. We are launching more this year and are also looking at kurtas and dresses.” The brand’s target customer base mainly consists of individuals aged 25-45, with Gen-Z being the second-largest demographic. Additionally, Suta has made strides in international markets by partnering with resellers in the USA and Canada.

When it comes to revenue, Suta reported ₹75 crore in FY25 and is optimistic about reaching ₹110 crore for FY26. Their sales breakdown reveals that 50 per cent of sales come from their website, 35 per cent from online stores, and the rest from various marketplaces. As a brand founded on collaboration with independent weavers, Suta operates a factory in Jharkhand dedicated to producing stitched garments. The brand’s commitment to quality and tradition has paved the way for their success in the highly competitive saree market.
