Namo Bharat Trains: Revolutionizing Travel From Delhi to Meerut in Just 35 Minutes

Well, that dream is now a reality, thanks to the newly launched Namo Bharat train service by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This game-changing service operates on a 13-kilometre stretch connecting Sahibabad to New Ashok Nagar through Anand Vihar in Delhi, drastically reducing travel time through the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) to a mere 35 minutes!

Namo Bharat Trains in Delhi: Extending the operational length of RRTS to 55 kilometres on the total 82-kilometre Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut route, passengers can now enjoy a swift journey from New Ashok Nagar in Delhi to Meerut South station in just 40 minutes. The leg between Meerut South and Anand Vihar is even quicker, taking only 35 minutes with trains running every 15 minutes.

Namo Bharat Delhi-Meerut Fare: For a single journey from New Ashok Nagar RRTS station in Delhi to Meerut South, the fare is a budget-friendly Rs 150. And for those opting for the premium class coach, the ticket price is Rs 225 for the same journey. From Anand Vihar to Meerut South, the fare is Rs 130 for regular coaches and Rs 195 for premium coaches.

RRTS Goes Underground: The recent inauguration of the 13-kilometre section of the Namo Bharat RRTS includes a 6-kilometre underground segment at Anand Vihar, marking the introduction of underground operations for these high-speed trains.

Namo Bharat Trains Speed: With a maximum speed of 160 kmph, the Namo Bharat Delhi-Meerut RRTS trains offer passengers a semi-high-speed mode of travel. This is made possible by the advanced track and signaling infrastructure, along with dedicated overhead or underground tracks, allowing for an average speed of around 100 kmph – significantly faster than traditional Indian Railways trains.
